Andy Kates started Rope Access Technology USA (RAT USA) in the fall of 1999 and has been the General Manager ever since. Under his direction, RAT USA has grown from a startup company to fielding 20 technicians and generating revenue of over $2 M annually.


Prior to starting Rope Access Technology, Andy was the General Manager of CAN USA, a Marketing Specialist for Honeywell Industrial Automation and Control, as well as a Field Engineer for Schlumberger Well Services.


Andy attended Georgia Tech and holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration.
